Autumn work plan

Between September and December I plan to work primarily with digital media and paint.  I have been using the word, Wuulhu, which in my language means "to fuse together" as a descrriptive word for my current practice.  In the past I often kept my work in video and sound separate from my more traditional practice in carving and painting.  This separation caused a fracture in my workflow, so for the last year I have been working to bring them together, which was initiated by my experimentation with live-visual performance.

I would like to complete a video I started in Geva 313.  It is an experimental piece titled, Naqs, Asil, Katlis (1,2,3).  I want to do more post-production editing on it as I felt I had to rush to get it finished for class.  It has been selected to screen at the Victoria Museum in January of 2013 as part of the, Two Worlds, multimedia series.  I will also start a new video piece titled, Wuulhu.  It will be a four part piece that I complete in the Spring of 2013.  It will be a piece that represents my attempt to fuse my visual and digital work, starting with a recorded live-mural / live-visual performance.

I will also be working on drawings and paintings as I am preparing work for my first solo exhibitions in 2013.  I am hesitant to say how many drawings and paintings I will complete, because I am always surprised by how fast and also how slow it can be to finish a piece.
